Barbara & John Mills

The love that Barb and John have for the nature and wildlife that surround their home on the marsh is displayed in so many ways. The airy West-Coast home, which they designed and built themselves, integrates the inside and outside worlds with a post and beam porch, and decks and window seats that all allow for birdwatching and the occasional visit from deer. In addition to an eclectic garden of vegetables, rhododendrons and fragrant roses, the owners have planted over 50 drought-tolerant trees while leaving 2/3 of the property in a natural state to support the wildlife, including large snags that have been specifically kept for the woodpeckers (other local inhabitants include owls, ravens, otters, eagles, beavers, newts, salamanders, and dragonflies). Don’t miss the pottery and sculpture studios and complete woodworking shop where you can see Barb and John’s nature-inspired works!
